Getting Started with Sigil Magic

Sigil magic is an incredibly simple and straightforward form of Chaos Magic. Once you learn the basics, you can use it to do literally anything without needing to consult any books or tables or spend any money. You can do it anywhere, and it fits into almost any magical tradition or practice you might already be doing. It's also a great introduction to some of the base theory underlying a lot of magical practice as chaos magicians understand it. A good place for anyone to start.

I'm working on a longer guide to walk you through sigil magic as I use it. It will also address a few common questions and give you some direction to get started. Should be a few pages long when done. There are a few out there already, but few that I like, and none that check all the boxes I think a guide should.

Until that's done, I highly reccommend my favorite guide out there, which checks all my boxes except "being reasonably short." this video of a talk given by Grant Morrison, writer of some incredible runs of Animal Man and Doom Patrol, almost two decades ago is a phenomenal introduction to sigils and chaos magic if you have the time to spare. In a prior upload, this exact video was the thing that got me into sigil magic, and caused me to start taking the occult seriously. Fair warning: it does open with him screaming incoherently at the audience. Adjust speakers accordingly.
